Job summary

UniFirst in Durham, NC is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech II to join our team. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

We offer on-the-job training, a Monday–Friday work week with overtime as needed, plus opportunities for career growth and professional development. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, at least 1 year of industrial repair experience, and familiarity with PLCs, blueprints

Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or GED; 2-year technical degree preferred.
1 year of experience repairing industrial equipment in a production setting.
Must pass maintenance knowledge assessment.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
Basic computer and MS Office skills required.
Lockout/Tagout experience required.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision tools and testing instruments.
Assist maintenance personnel with emergency and non-emergency repairs.
Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and control systems.
Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and engineering specifications.
Test boiler chemistry and wastewater pre-treatment, adjusting chemicals as needed.
Perform boiler daily/weekly safety checks and repairs.
Inspect motors, belts, fluid levels, filters, and lubricate components.
Perform basic welding to repair facilities/equipment.
Maintain equipment according to procedures and manuals.
Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
