Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Tech I to join our UniFirst community. As a Team Partner in the Maintenance Department, you will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components.

We offer a standard Monday - Friday work week with periodic night and weekend overtime and on-the-job training. The role emphasizes safe operation of machinery, reading blueprints and schematics, and using hand/power tools.

Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or GED.
Two-year technical degree preferred.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid driver's license with safe driving record.
Experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment.

Responsibilities

Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
Ensure safe operation of machinery and related systems.
Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specifications.
Troubleshoot equipment problems using diagnostics and instruments.
Perform boiler chemical and wastewater system testing and adjustments.
Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and address issues.
Record meter readings and take corrective actions as needed.
Perform site/location safety checks and follow up on concerns.
Inspect motors, belts, fluids, and replace filters per procedures.
Lubricate and inspect shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts.
Use Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
