Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will repair, maintain, install and troubleshoot industrial equipment, systems, and components in a Monday–Friday schedule with overtime as needed.

On-the-job training is provided to support your growth within our growing organization. Responsibilities include using hand tools and testing devices, reading blueprints, and performing safety and boiler/wastewater tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two-year technical degree is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required.
• Knowledgeable in maintenance equipment and blueprints/schematics.
• Minimum 6 months of industrial equipment repair experience.
• Ability to read maintenance literature in English.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools, precision measuring tools, and electronic testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and systems (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic).
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and engineering specs.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater testing and adjust chemicals as needed.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and repair as required.
• Record meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Inspect and lubricate machinery parts per procedures.
