Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Tech I to join our UniFirst community. As a Team Partner in the Maintenance Department, you will handle repairs, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, systems, and components.

We offer a Monday - Friday work week with periodic night and weekend overtime and on-the-job training. You'll use hand/power tools, read blueprints, and follow safety protocols to keep boilers and processing lines running smoothly.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Two-year technical degree preferred.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid driver's license with safe driving record required.
Minimum 6 months' experience repairing industrial processing equipment.
Must pass UniFirst's maintenance knowledge assessment.

Responsibilities

Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
Ensure safe operation of machinery and hydraulic systems.
Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals and specifications.
Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments.
Perform boiler chemical and wastewater test adjustments as needed.
Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and perform repairs.
Record meter readings and take corrective actions as necessary.
Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, gears and bearings.
Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System for records.
