Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a reliable Maintenance Tech I to join our team. You will handle repairs, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment and systems in a Monday–Friday week with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Must pass maintenance knowledge assessment.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Lockout/Tagout experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Utilize hand/power tools, precision measurement tools, and electronic testing devices.
• Ensure safe operation of machinery and systems.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems using precision instruments.
• Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment tests and adjust as needed.
• Conduct daily/weekly safety checks on boilers and perform repairs as required.
• Record and analyze utility meter readings and take corrective actions.
• Conduct daily/weekly location/system safety checks and address concerns.
• Inspect motors, belts, fluids, and replace filters as per procedures.
• Lubricate shafts and bearings and other components.
• Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
