Job summary

Bodycote in California seeks an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations for a heavy industrial plant. You will oversee installation and repair of equipment used in thermal processing, ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, advanced electrical knowledge, and the ability to manage a team, schedule preventive maintenance, and coordinate with vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related discipline, or 15 years of equivalent work experience.
• 5 years industrial maintenance experience; 10+ years cumulative in industrial environment.
• Advanced electrical training.
• Ability to supervise maintenance staff effectively.
• Deep knowledge of industrial manufacturing systems, piping and plumbing.
• Experience with cooling water systems and water treatment is advantageous.
• Experience with cryogenics and high pressure gas systems is advantageous.
• Experience with welding, cutting, brazing, and electricity.
• Ability to read blueprints; hydraulics and furnaces knowledge.
• Forklift certification may be required.
• OT/overtime and weekend shifts may be required.
• Proficient in English reading and writing; MS Office and databases.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance staff and oversee equipment maintenance and installation.
• Monitor SHE performance and enforce safety practices.
• Resolve chronic or acute equipment issues and manage vendor relations.
• Schedule daily and preventive maintenance; coordinate shutdowns with operations.
• Utilize CMMS for work orders and asset information.
• Create or edit basic engineering drawings.
• Oversee spare parts inventory and procurement with suppliers.
• Lead capital projects and track milestones and CapEx items.
• Maintain budget discipline and purchase order management.
• Ensure facility condition assessments and maintenance activities are initiated.
• Maintain gas inventories and related paperwork.
• Prepare month-end facility KPI reports and EMS compliance.
