Job summary

Bodycote plc in Indianapolis seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead the mechanical maintenance team and provide SME guidance on repairs of process equipment. You will manage daily maintenance, capital projects, budgeting, and vendor coordination under the General Manager.

Based in a heavy industrial environment, this role emphasizes safety, budgeting discipline, and efficient maintenance planning to support thermal processing operations.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizens or permanent residents for ITAR compliance.
• Four-year college degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology or related discipline.
• Five years of supervisory experience in an industrial setting.
• Ten years of cumulative maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
• Deep knowledge of industrial manufacturing systems and heavy-duty piping/plumbing.
• Experience with cooling water systems and water treatment.
• Experience with cryogenics and high-pressure gas systems.
• Basic electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
• Computer proficiency with CMMS and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Supervises maintenance employees and oversees equipment installation.
• Oversees health, safety and environmental performance.
• Resolves chronic or acute equipment issues.
• Manages external contract personnel for specialized work.
• Plans and schedules routine and preventive maintenance activities.
• Uses CMMS for work orders and asset records.
• Reviews and edits engineering drawings as needed.
• Manages spare parts inventory and vendor performance.
• Leads capital projects and oversees CapEx milestones.
• Maintains facility budgeting and procurement processes.
• Assesses facility conditions and initiates repairs/maintenance.
• Maintains gas inventories and paperwork with deliveries.
• Prepares month-end KPI reporting for maintenance and EMS.
