Job summary

AdvanSix is seeking an Instrumentation-Electrical (I&E) Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and maintain instrument and electrical systems, motor control circuits, power supplies and PLCs. The role requires reading various drawings and schematics, installing and maintaining PLC/DCS hardware, and performing preventive maintenance in a high voltage environment.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate degree in industrial electrical technology and at least five years of I&E maintenance

Qualifications

• Associate degree in industrial electrical/electronic technology or equivalent
• Five years industrial experience in Instrumentation-Electrical maintenance
• Ability to read/interpret electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation drawings and schematics
• Experience with PLCs and CNCs
• Knowledge of 480 Volt MCC and power distribution systems
• Basic programming knowledge and troubleshooting
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics desired
• English reading/writing/speaking required
• Ability to communicate with cross-functional teams
• Proficient computer skills for requisite software
• Able to operate various tools and equipment

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting of critical equipment upon failure
• Troubleshoot AC and DC electronics
• Use electronic test equipment (VOM, oscilloscope, Megger, calibrators)
• Read and interpret drawings and schematics
• Install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair PLC and/or DCS hardware, software and controls
• Diagnose and repair AC & DC motors and control circuits
• Maintain MCC and power distribution systems
• Move and set up equipment as needed
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance
• Ensure safe operation in high voltage areas
