Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Field Service Technician to travel to customer sites, diagnose, repair, and overhaul industrial rotating equipment. You will lead on-site mechanical evaluations, alignments, and precision assembly, delivering exceptional customer service.

You will use advanced tools to test and verify equipment performance, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and timely problem resolution. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience with AC/DC motors, gearboxes, pumps, or similar rotating industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret precision measuring instruments and technical blueprints.
• Analytical problem-solving in a fast-paced, continuous improvement environment.
• Strong customer-facing communication and professional presentation of findings.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; willingness to work overtime and weekends for on-call field service.
• Experience with PdMA testing or Level I Vibration Analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Precision Assembly & Alignment: Lead installation/removal of AC/DC motors and coupled equipment; perform laser alignments and set air gaps and seals to OEM specs.
• Detailed Mechanical Inspections: Use calipers, micrometers, dial indicators to diagnose wear and verify tolerances.
• Advanced Overhauls: Replace bearings, gearboxes and critical components with specialized tooling.
• Technical Testing: Perform diagnostics using portable equipment (Megger, PdMA MCE, Multimeter, DLRO).
• Specialized Maintenance: Clean and prep electro-mechanical equipment with bead/ice blasting and solvent cleaning.
• Safety & Collaboration: Adhere to safety standards; work independently or in teams to hit project goals.
