Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking a Field Service Technician to lead on-site diagnostics, precision repairs, and overhauls of industrial rotating equipment across North America. You will travel to customer sites, apply hands-on mechanical skills, and ensure equipment operates at peak performance.

The role rewards initiative, safety discipline, and a strong customer focus as you work independently or with a team to deliver unmatched service, often requiring overtime and weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with AC/DC motors, gearboxes, pumps, or similar rotating industrial equipment.
• Ability to read precision measuring instruments and technical blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, continuous-improvement environment.
• Strong customer-facing communication.
• Valid Driver’s License and willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends for on-call field service.
• Experience with PdMA testing or Level I Vibration Analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the installation and removal of AC/DC motors and coupled equipment, perform laser alignments and set critical gaps to OEM specs.
• Use precision measuring tools to diagnose wear, verify tolerances, and ensure equipment integrity.
• Replace sleeve and anti-friction bearings, gearboxes, and torque-critical components.
• Perform essential diagnostic tests using portable equipment (Megger, PdMA MCE, Multimeter, DLRO).
• Clean and prep electro‑mechanical equipment using bead/ice blasting and solvent cleaning.
• Adhere to safety standards while working independently or in a team to hit project goals.
