Job summary

Electrical Application Engineer position supporting customers in demanding industrial environments. The role blends engineering, sales support, product development, and field service to design, implement, and sustain reliable solutions.

Key duties include translating needs into manufacturable systems, configuring products, and providing technical training. You will travel to sites, assist with commissioning, and communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering.
• 5+ years of technical field, applications engineering, or similar hands-on engineering experience.
• Experience in oil & gas, mining, power generation, heavy industrial environments.
• Familiarity with sensor technologies, industrial monitoring systems, electronics, and network communications.
• Knowledge of Modbus, 4–20mA, relay logic, and other common industrial protocols.
• Understanding of hazardous locations, classifications, and equipment ratings.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical information for customers and non-technical users.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep expertise in company products and applications across industrial markets.
• Partner with sales to understand customer requirements and recommend technical solutions.
• Translate customer needs into manufacturable system and product solutions.
• Configure standard products and systems to meet application-specific requirements.
• Design customized solutions incorporating internal products and third-party tech.
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis to support product selection.
• Serve as primary technical contact for customers through sales and implementation.
• Communicate product capabilities and technical concepts clearly to all audiences.
• Create application drawings, technical docs, and training materials.
• Support system design, testing, verification, installation, programming, and startup activities.
• Troubleshoot equipment and systems in the field, over the phone, and via remote support.
• Provide engineering feedback on product performance and field issues.
• Participate in design and development of new products and enhancements.
• Coordinate outside engineering resources when needed.
• Join customer visits and contribute to technical presentations.
• Assist with RFIs and RFQs responses.
• Identify new customer needs for future products.
