The role combines design, field support, and technical leadership, traveling to sites as needed and collaborating with sales to tailor solutions. Strong electronics knowledge and communication skills are essential for field troubleshooting and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of technical field, applications engineering, or similar hands-on engineering experience.
• Experience in oil & gas, mining, power generation, or heavy industrial environments.
• Familiarity with sensor technologies, industrial monitoring systems, electronics, and network communications.
• Knowledge of Modbus, 4–20mA, relay logic, and other common industrial protocols.
• Understanding hazardous locations and equipment ratings.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into customer-friendly language.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep expertise in company products and applications across industrial markets.
• Partner with sales to understand customer requirements and recommend solutions.
• Translate needs into manufacturable system and product solutions.
• Configure standard products to meet application-specific requirements.
• Design customized solutions using internal and third-party technologies.
• Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses to support recommendations.
• Serve as primary technical contact throughout sales and implementation.
• Communicate capabilities and concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Create drawings, documentation, specifications, and training materials.
• Support design, testing, installation, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Troubleshoot field equipment and systems by various channels.
• Provide training to customers, sales teams, and stakeholders.
• Test equipment to verify performance against specs.
• Provide feedback to engineering teams on product performance and customer needs.
• Assist in design and development of new products and enhancements.
• Coordinate outside engineering resources when needed.
• Join sales on customer visits and participate in technical presentations.
• Respond to RFIs and RFQs.
• Identify additional customer needs and opportunities for growth.
