Job summary

IES is seeking an Electrical Systems Field Service Technician to provide on-site support, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance for a variety of industrial equipment across client sites. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and frequent travel to customer locations.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years in industrial field service, hands-on experience with motors, pumps, HVAC, and PLCs, plus relevant certifications and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or related fields preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role, with a focus on industrial machinery or equipment.
• Experience with motors, pumps, HVAC, hydraulic systems, PLCs is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain them.
• Certifications such as HVAC Technician, Electrical Technician, or Industrial Maintenance Certifications are a plus; valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for a wide range of industrial equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize downtime at customer sites.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues and perform repairs or replacements as necessary.
• Install new machinery or equipment per client specifications, ensuring correct setup and calibration.
• Use diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, vibration analyzers) to identify faults and restore functionality.
• Communicate with customers, train operators, and maintain strong service relationships.
• Complete accurate service reports and track activities, parts, and inventory.
