Job summary

Graybar is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to develop new prospects and maintain relationships with customers in the Texas region. You will be responsible for meeting revenue targets, promoting products, and handling customer inquiries at customer sites and off-site locations.

The role requires significant travel, with a focus on sales execution, negotiation, and relationship building. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, and experience advancing deals independently is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience required; 6+ years preferred.
• 4 year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing.
• Negotiation skills.
• Ability to learn our business and to work independently to achieve goals.
• Ability to sell and be persuasive.
• Extensive travel required, including some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed annual gross margin budget by promoting and selling products.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims.
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions.
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs as directed; suggest new items for stock.
• Maintain current customer records, files, and reports of business transactions; assist in collections.
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings.
• Demonstrate products after sale when necessary.
