Graybar Electric Company, Inc. is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to grow our specialized market footprint.

You will develop new prospects, maintain relationships with existing customers, and regularly visit them at their place of business or other off-site locations to promote products and services. The role emphasizes meeting gross margin targets, handling customer inquiries, coordinating with management on market conditions, and supporting trade shows and training sessions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years industry-specific experience required; 4+ years preferred
• 4 year degree preferred
• Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing
• Negotiation skills
• Ability to learn our business and to work independently to achieve goals
• Ability to sell and be persuasive
• Extensive travel required, including some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed annual gross margin budget by promoting and selling products in the assigned territory
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs as directed, and recommend new items for stock
• Maintain current customer records, files, and reports of business transactions; assist in collection of past due accounts
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings as requested
• Demonstrate products after sale when necessary
