Job summary

Graybar Electric Company, Inc. is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to grow our customer base and drive sales in a specialized market. You will visit customers at their sites, promote products, and manage accounts with a focus on profitability and service excellence.

The role requires building strong relationships, handling complaints, and staying competitive in the market while traveling extensively to customer locations and trade events.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years industry-specific experience required.
• 4+ years experience preferred; 4 year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales and marketing.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to learn our business and work independently to achieve goals.
• Ability to sell and be persuasive.
• Extensive travel required, including some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed the annual gross margin budget by promoting and selling products in the assigned territory according to pricing policies.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims.
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions.
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs; recommend new items for stock.
• Maintain current customer records and assist in collection of past due accounts.
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings; demonstrate products after sale when necessary.
