Job summary

Graybar Electric Company, Inc. seeks an Outside Sales Representative to grow our customer base in a dedicated territory. You will visit customers at their sites, promote products, and manage relationships to meet margins and growth targets.

You will handle inquiries, report market trends, and participate in trade shows and training sessions. Travel requirements include overnight stays, leveraging your vehicle for business use, and contributing to merchandising initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years industry-specific experience required.
• 4+ years experience preferred; 4 year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing.
• Extensive travel required, including some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for meeting or exceeding annual gross margin budget by promoting and selling products in assigned territory.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims.
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions.
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs as directed, and recommend new items for stock.
• Maintain current customer records, files, and reports of business transactions; assist in collection of past due accounts.
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings as requested.
• Demonstrate products after sale when necessary.
