Job summary

Airgas, Grandville, MI is hiring a Counter Sales Associate to engage customers with high-energy interactions and provide essential gases and supplies. You will advise on tools and materials, process transactions, and support inventory and delivery coordination in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1+ year of experience in inside sales, retail, or customer service; industrial sales exposure a plus.
• Forklift experience required; training provided on hire.
• Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
• Capable of moving items up to 60 pounds regularly with material handling equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Comfortable using basic math and computer tools, including POS systems.
• Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control is a plus.
• Attention to detail in handling transactions.
• Availability for occasional overtime when the team needs extra support.

Responsibilities

• Provide counter sales support for industrial gases, welding supplies, and related products.
• Process transactions and handle order entry with accuracy.
• Advise customers on tools, hardware, and materials for their projects.
• Demonstrate equipment use and share insights on product quality.
• Maintain safety compliance and PPE usage per policy.
• Coordinate with customers and team for delivery and pricing details.
