Job summary

Airgas, Inc. is hiring a Front Counter Associate in Wixom, MI to balance high-energy customer interaction with operational support. You will assist customers with industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and related supplies in a fast-paced retail setting.

Responsibilities include advising on tools and materials, demonstrating equipment use, handling transactions, and coordinating with team to ensure timely delivery. Forklift experience and POS training are provided.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years in retail or customer service; industrial sales a plus.
• Forklift experience required; full training provided on hire.
• Drug-free workplace requirement.
• Ability to move items up to 50 pounds with assistance as needed.
• Excellent customer service; fast-paced environment.
• Basic math and computer skills; POS training provided.
• Experience in industrial retail or inventory control is a plus.
• Attention to detail in handling transactions.
• Occasional overtime may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide counter sales for industrial, medical, and specialty gases and welding equipment.
• Advise customers on tools, hardware, and materials; demonstrate equipment use.
• Ensure paperwork: coding, costing, and pricing are accurate.
• Partner with customers to select best tools and procedures for tasks.
• Manage order entry and process transactions; assist with deposits reconciliation.
• Coordinate communication with customers and team via phone, email, and in person.
• Contribute to outbound call strategy to drive branch growth.
• Coordinate transfer of merchandise between locations as needed.
• Maintain a welcoming showroom; stock shelves for customer experience.
• Coordinate cylinder movement and pallet organization.
