Job summary

Connect Search LLC is partnering with an industrial services company to hire an experienced Industrial Billing Specialist for its accounting team in Texas. This onsite contract-to-hire role focuses on accurate, complete project billing and timely submission.

You will collaborate with Operations, Project Management, Accounting, and Purchasing to identify missing billing, resolve discrepancies, and ensure revenue is captured.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of recent billing experience.
• Experience in industrial services, construction, mechanical contracting, maintenance, field services, or similar project-based environments.
• Hands‑on experience with project billing and supporting documentation.
• Strong understanding of purchase orders, job costing, labor rates, and billing requirements.
• Ability to independently research and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong follow‑up and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit customer invoices accurately and on schedule.
• Handle project-based billing (Time & Material, Lump Sum, and Progress Billing).
• Review contracts, purchase orders, work orders, rate sheets, and change orders.
• Verify labor hours, rates, equipment charges, materials, expenses, and markups.
• Review supporting documentation such as timesheets, tickets, receipts, and approvals.
• Track unbilled revenue and follow up on outstanding billing items.
• Reconcile billing against job costs and supporting documentation.
• Research discrepancies involving payroll, purchasing, job costing, and customer requirements.
• Monitor purchase order balances and identify funding or documentation issues.
• Submit invoices through customer billing portals when required.
• Resolve rejected invoices, billing disputes, and customer correction requests.
• Maintain billing trackers and organized supporting documentation.
• Support month-end billing reconciliations and reporting.
• Coordinate with Accounts Receivable on invoice adjustments, credits, and outstanding balances.
