Job summary

Graybar is seeking a Technical Specialist - Industrial Automation to support the sales of high-tech automation and control products and collaborate with branch personnel to identify opportunities that meet customer needs.

You will specify products, recommend inventory, inform staff and customers about new developments, and provide technical services for operation and maintenance of automation equipment while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year experience in progressively more responsible sales, marketing, and/or field experience required.
4+ years experience preferred.
Knowledge of high-tech automation and control products and engineering principles related to customer automation products.
Oral and written communication skills.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with management and evaluate customer needs.
Organizational and team building skills.
Ability to make oral and written presentations to internal and external contacts and clearly present complex solutions to non-technical staff.
Extensive travel required.

Responsibilities

Specify products to meet customer requirements and needs.
Recommend inventory of automation products.
Inform sales staff and customers of new developments in automation and related products technology.
Provide technical services to customers for the operation and maintenance of automation equipment.
