Job summary

EY is seeking a Tax Technology and Transformation leader in the New York area to help tax departments operate efficiently and leverage technology for compliance and analytics. The role emphasizes leading a team, coordinating resources, and delivering integrated tax solutions across ERP and tax platforms.

The position requires strong accounting foundations, and a CPA or progression toward certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate emphasis in accounting with related work experience in indirect tax process improvement or equivalent
• CPA license or membership to state Bar or progress to attaining those mentioned
• Experience in indirect tax software such as Vertex, ONESOURCE, Avalara
• ERP systems like SAP or Oracle; procurement tools such as Ariba, Coupa
• Hybrid client-facing model requiring in-person work about 60% of the time

Responsibilities

• Help client tax departments operate at peak efficiency and productivity
• Transfer control of tax decision-making to tax specialists within the client’s department
• Define solutions, coordinate resources, and deliver finished products meeting client goals and tax requirements
• Lead teams, mentor counselees, and manage client-serving business
• Document current state tax processes and controls to identify enhancements
• Support development of business cases and assist with vendor selection
• Document tax data requirements and implement automated indirect tax solutions
• Support data analytics and global digital tax reporting initiatives
