Job summary

Middleborough Public Schools seeks a dedicated special education teacher to implement explicit instruction with multi-sensory approaches for students receiving services, within general education settings and learning centers.

You will collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to deliver pullout and in-class supports, utilizing research-based strategies to promote goal attainment and successful transitions for students. Strong data use and documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Must collaborate with teachers and specialists to provide services.
• Provide pullout services as needed.
• Use data-based decision making to guide instruction.
• Maintain clear communication with families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Implement multi-sensory instruction with language-based techniques and assistive technology as needed.
• Collaborate and co-teach with grade-level teachers and specialists.
• Promote research-based strategies to support transitions and generalization of goals.
• Serve as contact person for designated caseload, including IEPs and progress reports.
• Use classroom management strategies and PBIS to create a positive instructional environment.
• Gather information for progress monitoring and guide instruction with data-based decisions.
• Provide supervision to assigned paraprofessionals.
• Coordinate student and staff schedules to align with IEP requirements.
• Consult with staff and administration as an active Team member.
• Perform other duties as reasonably required.
