Job summary

Michaels is hiring an Event Coordination/Customer Experience role to plan and run events in-store, including children’s parties and classes. You will engage customers, manage event logistics, and support checkout and store operations to ensure a fun, safe shopping experience.

You’ll work with clients of all ages, coordinate add-ons, and help enroll customers in rewards programs while maintaining high standards of service and store cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience required.
• Excellent people skills.
• Experience working with children and children’s events.
• Good communication skills including listening skills.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; creative problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once (e.g., children’s birthday parties and crafts).
• Engage with clients of all ages by creating a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in crafts; perform face painting and activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons (goody bags, balloons) to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Handle administrative tasks: emails, phone calls, paperwork.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback; create backup plans as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction and uphold safety/cleanliness standards.
• Assist with daily store tasks and maintain recovery standards.
