Job summary

HermanMiller in Walnut Creek is seeking a Sales & Design Specialist to blend design sensibility with consultative selling, guiding clients through spaces that support wellbeing and productivity. You’ll be the face of a brand with a century of modern furniture, reporting to the General Manager and driving store success.

The role combines in-store demonstrations, personalized consultations, and ongoing client relationships, with flexible hours including weekends.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in retail sales, interior design, or client-facing design consultation
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-first mindset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and design/rendering tools
• Ability to lift/move items over 40 lbs and adhere to safety protocols
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed

Responsibilities

• Inspire and educate clients through in-store demonstrations and personalized consultations
• Design tailored solutions that align with clients’ needs, preferences, and wellness goals
• Drive sales by building strong client relationships and proactively following up on leads
• Collaborate with the A&D (Architecture & Design) community to grow brand awareness and partnerships
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and ensure a premium store experience
• Process transactions and manage orders with accuracy and efficiency
