Job summary

Sur La Table in Orlando seeks a Chef Instructor to lead hands-on cooking classes and deliver engaging instruction in savory and pastry techniques. You will drive sales of cookware and kitchen tools by delivering high-quality, educational experiences that reflect the brand’s passion for food and teaching.

The role requires 21+ years, culinary background, and the ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Training and product knowledge will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Culinary arts degree preferred; extensive experience considered in lieu.
• Proficient in savory cooking and pastry or both.
• 1–2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and decision‑making.
• Passion for community engagement and customer experiences.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-store culinary experiences through savory, pastry, and baking classes.
• Represent Sur La Table’s brand and culture with memorable experiences.
• Communicate cooking concepts clearly and encouragingly.
• Stay current on products and participate in training.
• Drive sales through class sign-ups and retail item promotion.
• Set up, run, and break down classes and maintain stations.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation compliance.
• Manage inventory and assist with kitchen supplies.
• Support store safety, wage and hour adherence, and SOPs.
