Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a per diem school-based assistant to support the Special Education Teacher with implementing academic and social-emotional programming for assigned students. The role emphasizes collaboration with the classroom team and adherence to the health system’s values.

The position involves collecting data, preparing reports, and providing direct academic support while following Bradley Hospital policies in a psychiatric setting.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree preferred with a major in education or related human service fields.
• Basic knowledge of data entry/management programs such as Excel; Excel training will be provided.
• Bradley Hospital Safety Care Certification

Responsibilities

• Assist in formulating social-emotional and behavioral programming consistent with students’ IEPs.
• Implement social-emotional and behavioral programming with activities of daily life as needed.
• Collect and manage data on social-emotional and behavioral functioning for assigned students.
• Prepare and present verbal and/or written reports concerning social-emotional and behavioral functioning.
• Assist in implementation of the academic and social-emotional curricula as directed by the classroom teacher and team leader.
• Provide academic support to students as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Prepare and submit required paperwork for the student record.
• Attend and participate in classroom team meetings and other student-related meetings.
• Attend and participate in supervisory sessions, staff meetings or other meetings as assigned.
• Observe Bradley Schools policies, rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as required, assigned, or directed.
