Job summary

Brown University Health in Rhode Island is seeking a Per Diem Special Education Assistant to support the Special Education Teacher with implementing academic and social-emotional programming for students with IEPs.

This role requires collaboration with the classroom team, data collection on social-emotional and behavioral functioning, and preparation of reports while complying with Bradley Hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree preferred with a major in education or related human service fields.
• Basic knowledge of data entry/management programs such as Excel. For those without this background upon hire, Excel training will be provided.
• Bradley Hospital Safety Care Certification

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the classroom team to implement social-emotional and behavioral programming aligned with students' IEPs.
• Assists in the formulation of social-emotional and behavioral programming.
• Collects and manages data on social-emotional and behavioral functioning for assigned students.
• Prepares and presents reports concerning social-emotional and behavioral functioning.
• Assists in implementation of academic and social-emotional curricula as directed by the teacher.
• Provides academic support to students as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Prepares and submits required paperwork for the student record.
• Attends classroom and student-related meetings as assigned.
• Follows Bradley Schools policies and participates in meetings as required.
• Performs other duties as required
