Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking an assistant to support the Special Education Teacher in implementing academic and social-emotional programming for students. The role collaborates with the classroom team to align with IEPs, collects data, and prepares reports while assisting with daily living activities when needed.

The position requires a BA/BS preferred in education or related human services, basic Excel skills, and Bradley Hospital Safety Care Certification.

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate Degree preferred with a major in education or related human service fields.
  • Basic knowledge of data entry/management programs such as Excel; Excel training may be provided on hire.
  • Bradley Hospital Safety Care Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing effective academic and social-emotional programming for assigned students.
  • Formulate and implement social-emotional and behavioral programming aligned with IEPs.
  • Assist with activities of daily life as needed and collect data on behavior.
  • Prepare and present reports on social-emotional functioning for assigned students.
  • Provide academic support and maintain student records.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to clinical and educational planning.
