Job summary

CAA ICON offers a Summer 2027 internship in San Jose, CA, designed for current university students pursuing construction management, engineering, or related fields. The in-person, full-time program runs May 17, 2027 – August 6, 2027, with paid employment and a housing stipend for non-locals.

You will support project teams with scheduling, document control, site tours, and coordination, gaining exposure to construction methodologies, LEED, and stadium technology while developing professionally

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related degree is required, with an expected graduation date in Spring/Summer/Winter 2027 or Spring/Summer 2028.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred.
• Strong technical skills; Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Bluebeam.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, planning, and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Dependable, results-focused, and ethical.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support of daily needs, including deliveries/mailing, scanning, document development, and maintaining tracking logs.
• Coordinate and maintain a master calendar for the project team, and effectively manage all scheduled activities, meeting invites, conference call lines, etc.
• Assist with the maintenance of files.
• Attend all regularly scheduled meetings, taking notes and keeping meeting minutes.
• Assist with the planning of all events and special projects.
• Assist with obtaining project data to establish project schedules.
• Assist with monitoring and forecasting budgets, contracting costs, and actual cost expenditures.
• Assist with contract administration, project correspondence, and document control.
• Assist with log submittals and processing of RFIs, and coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and staff.
• Navigate and markup architectural building drawings.
• Lead or participate in site tours, when applicable.
• Support the team in capturing site photographs.
• Review and prepare Purchase Orders and Change Orders for timely submission.
• Engage in client-facing responsibilities and communicate task updates in meetings.
• Join team visits to venues and offices.
• Experience areas like construction methodologies, stadium technology, architectural design, sponsorship negotiations, LEED, and more.
