Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers with clinical documentation, allowing clinicians to focus more on patient care. You will observe and document patient encounters, support documentation accuracy, and assist with after-visit summaries in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The role requires strong listening and communication skills, computer literacy, and the ability to learn new workflows. In-person attendance at Oak Street Health clinics is expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience, including shadowing and/or volunteering.
• Prior scribe or transcription experience (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Documenting patient encounters in real time in a structured note with history, assessment, plan and exam.
• Clinical documentation improvement through reviewing records and using population health tools.
• Administrative support for the provider and care team (placing orders, referrals, tasks).
• Other duties as assigned.
