Job summary

Ghafari Associates is seeking an Architecture internship candidate to work fully in-office at our Grand Rapids, MI location for the period of May through August 2027. The intern will assist in executing office and project-related design and technical tasks of simple to moderate complexity under supervision.

The role includes reading construction documents, creating as-built drawings, setting up AutoCAD/Revit files, and supporting design tasks such as stairs and layouts, with emphasis on

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interiors, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Enrollment as a student for the internship period.

Responsibilities

• Read and document existing construction documents and perform field checks of architectural conditions.
• Set up project AutoCAD and/or Revit files per client/office standards and produce construction documents.
• Assist in preparation of technical and design documents under direct supervision.
• Assist with design tasks of limited scope (stairs, layouts) and with documentation (schedules, reflected ceiling plans).
• Communicate effectively with project team and follow directions from PM/Lead Architect.
• Assist in programming sessions and preparation of programming documents and presentation materials.
