Job summary

Ghafari Associates, LLC in Grand Rapids, MI seeks an in-office Architecture intern for May–August 2027. You will assist in executing design and technical tasks of simple to moderate complexity under supervision.

Responsibilities include reading construction documents, producing as-built drawings, and setting up AutoCAD/Revit files per standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Photoshop is expected, with strong communication and collaboration skills essential for the project team.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Fine Arts/Interiors, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience reading construction documents and field checking existing buildings is preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and Photoshop required or highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Capable of reading existing construction documents, field checking, and documenting architectural conditions.
• Produce existing building as-built drawings and develop architectural backgrounds.
• Set up project AutoCAD and/or Revit files per standards.
• Prepare construction documents based on lead Architect directions.
• Assist in preparing technical and design documents under supervision.
• Assist with design tasks (stairs, layouts, details) and with schedules and reflected ceiling plans.
• Communicate effectively with the project team and other disciplines.
