Job summary

Ghafari Associates is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to work in-office at our Dearborn and Grand Rapids locations from May to August 2027. The intern will apply CAD/Revit skills to generate design documents, support engineers during the design phase, and help produce final, coordinated drawings.

Qualifications include pursuing a civil/structural engineering degree (2+ years completed), experience with AutoCAD and Revit, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil/structural engineering with at least two years of coursework completed.
• Experience with CAD software; willingness to learn and use Revit/AutoCAD.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Create engineering documents using CAD technology (AutoCAD and/or Revit).
• Work with engineers during design to understand scope and data needs.
• Provide limited design input and prepare detailed documents with guidance from engineers.
• Make corrections and produce final documents for review; ensure section coordination.
• Coordinate disciplines and resolve document coordination problems; reproduce documents on demand.
• Prepare 3D models/drawings as needed and support team problem solving.
