Job summary

Inter-Con Security Systems, Inc. seeks a Counsel – Litigation to join its growing Legal Department. You will manage employment litigation, draft motions, and coordinate with outside counsel while developing practical in-house judgment.

The role offers an in-house, non-billable environment focused on business outcomes, direct exposure to business leaders, and opportunities as the company expands internationally, with meaningful ownership of matters.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of relevant litigation experience with a focus on employment law.
• Experience with discovery, motions, case management, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, or trials.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to collaborate with internal clients, senior attorneys, and outside counsel.

Responsibilities

• Manage employment litigation matters, administrative claims, internal investigations, regulatory inquiries, and related disputes.
• Develop litigation strategies aligned with the company’s business priorities and risk-management objectives.
• Draft motions, pleadings, correspondence, and discovery; assist with document collection, ESI, witness interviews, and deposition preparation.
• Take and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as experience and case needs permit.
• Evaluate claims and contribute to settlement strategy, negotiations, and resolution efforts.
• Partner directly with internal stakeholders to provide practical guidance on employment litigation risk, dispute resolution, and compliance matters.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on case strategy, discovery, deadlines, budgets, and results while helping retain meaningful litigation work in-house.
• Support traditional labor matters, including grievance review and strategy, with guidance from experienced members of the Legal team.
• Monitor legal developments affecting the organization and recommend policy or process improvements that reduce risk.
• Assist with contract review, requests for proposals, compliance initiatives, and other Legal Department projects as needed.
