This role handles employment litigation matters, internal investigations, and regulatory inquiries, offering hands-on ownership of cases and close collaboration with business leaders. The ideal candidate has strong employment litigation experience, excellent research and writing skills, and practical judgment.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the California Bar.
• Three to five years of relevant litigation experience, with a strong foundation in employment law.
• Hands-on experience with discovery, motion practice, case management, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, or trials.
• Traditional labor experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Practical business judgment and the ability to collaborate with internal clients, senior attorneys, and outside counsel.
• Initiative, professionalism, sound judgment, and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support employment litigation matters, administrative claims, internal investigations, regulatory inquiries, and related disputes.
• Help develop litigation strategies aligned with the company’s business priorities and risk-management objectives.
• Draft motions, pleadings, correspondence, and discovery; assist with document collection, ESI, witness interviews, and deposition preparation.
• Take and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as experience permits.
• Evaluate claims and contribute to settlement strategy, negotiations, and resolution efforts.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to provide practical guidance on employment litigation risk and compliance.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on case strategy, discovery, deadlines, budgets, and results.
• Support traditional labor matters with guidance from senior Legal team members.
• Monitor legal developments and recommend policy or process improvements.
• Assist with contract review, RFPs, compliance initiatives, and other Legal Department projects.
