Inter-Con Security Systems, Inc. is seeking a Counsel – Litigation to join its growing Legal Department in Pasadena, CA. The role handles employment litigation directly in-house, offering a sustainable model focused on business outcomes rather than billable hours.

The ideal candidate has strong employment litigation experience, excellent research and writing skills, and practical judgment. Labor experience is a plus, with opportunities to shape strategy and policy across a growing organization.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active California Bar membership.
• Three to five years of relevant litigation experience, with a strong foundation in employment law.
• Hands-on experience with discovery, motion practice, case management, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, or trials.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support employment litigation matters, administrative claims, internal investigations, regulatory inquiries, and related disputes.
• Help develop litigation strategies aligned with the company’s business priorities and risk-management objectives.
• Draft motions, pleadings, correspondence, and discovery; assist with document collection, ESI, witness interviews, and deposition preparation.
• Take and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as experience and case needs permit.
• Evaluate claims and contribute to settlement strategy, negotiations, and resolution efforts.
• Partner directly with internal stakeholders to provide practical guidance on employment litigation risk, dispute resolution, and compliance matters.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on case strategy, discovery, deadlines, budgets, and results while helping retain meaningful litigation work in-house.
• Support traditional labor matters, including grievance review and strategy, with guidance from experienced members of the Legal team.
• Monitor legal developments affecting the organization and recommend policy or process improvements that reduce risk.
• Assist with contract review, requests for proposals, compliance initiatives, and other Legal Department projects as needed.
