Description

The In-Home Project Manager is the primary field owner of our customers’ residential installation projects. You’ll manage projects from the pre-construction assessment through final completion, making sure each job stays on schedule, meets quality standards, aligns with the agreed scope, and delivers a great customer experience.

This is a 100% field-based role working directly at customer homes. You’ll conduct site evaluations, review project contracts and specifications, coordinate with installation crews and internal teams, troubleshoot roadblocks, and keep homeowners informed throughout their project.

This is a great opportunity for someone with residential construction, home improvement, installation, or project management experience who enjoys being in the field, solving problems, and taking ownership of projects from start to finish.

What You’ll Do
  • Own projects from start to finish. Manage a portfolio of residential installation projects from pre-construction through final customer sign-off, with accountability for quality, timing, cost, and overall project success.
  • Conduct pre-construction site evaluations. Visit customer homes to complete site inspections, pre-measurements, product validations, and other evaluations needed to ensure projects are ready for installation.
  • Review contracts and project scope. Interpret contracts, installation specifications, and project details to identify discrepancies and confirm the correct products and materials are ordered.
  • Keep projects on schedule. Coordinate installation timelines with homeowners, installation crews, and internal teams while proactively addressing issues that could delay the project.
  • Solve problems in the field. Identify installation challenges and develop practical solutions, resolving routine project issues independently and escalating when appropriate.
  • Remove project roadblocks. Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Procurement, Finance, and other teams to resolve issues such as finance or deposit holds, HOA approvals, material concerns, and supply chain delays.
  • Manage project costs and profitability. Monitor material usage, labor efficiency, and service costs to help ensure projects are completed within established expectations and margin targets.
  • Be the customer’s primary point of contact. Provide clear, professional, and responsive communication throughout the project and address customer questions or concerns as they arise.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation. Update project status, job site information, issues, and required documentation in company systems before leaving each job site.
  • Support quality and safety standards. Ensure work performed at customer homes meets company quality expectations as well as applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain your company vehicle. Keep your assigned vehicle clean, stocked, organized, and ready for daily field appointments.
Requirements
What You Bring

  • Strong understanding of residential construction or installation processes with the ability to identify and troubleshoot job site issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret project contracts, residential installation specifications, drawings, and project documentation.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the confidence to work directly with homeowners throughout their project.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, appointments, priorities, and deadlines while working independently in the field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions without requiring frequent manager involvement.
  • Comfort tracking project costs, materials, labor, or other factors that affect project profitability.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing accurate and timely project documentation.
  • Comfort using an iPad, CRM, project management software, and other field-based technology.
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
