Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license in the practice state(s).
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to travel to appointments.
• Comfort working independently as a mobile veterinarian.
• Strong communication and empathy for pet families.
• Ability to participate in rotational weekend scheduling.
• Capacity to lift and handle animals during visits.
• Successful completion of background and motor vehicle record checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and euthanasia services.
• Travel independently to scheduled appointments in a mobile care setting.
• Perform exams, administer medications, sedation, euthanasia, and other veterinary services.
• Educate families on end-of-life options and aftercare with empathy.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Collaborate with Heartstrings team and referring veterinarians.
• Maintain professionalism and clinical independence in the field.
• Demonstrate Compassion, Dignity, and Respect in all interactions.
