Job summary

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking licensed veterinarians to provide in-home hospice, palliative care, and compassionate euthanasia for pets and families across the PA service area. You will work in a mobile veterinary setting, traveling to clients’ homes to deliver high-quality end-of-life care with autonomy.

The role emphasizes compassionate communication, clinical judgment, and the ability to manage care in diverse home environments.

Qualifications

• DVM, VMD, BVMS, or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with ability to travel to home visits.
• Capacity to work independently as a mobile veterinarian in home settings.
• Excellent communication and compassionate end-of-life care skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and euthanasia services.
• Travel independently to scheduled home visits using a mobile veterinary care model.
• Document medical records accurately and promptly for each patient encounter.
• Communicate with pet families and Heartstrings’ veterinary team with empathy and professionalism.
• Adhere to safety, regulatory, and professional standards in all field activities.
