Job summary

Comfort Keepers is hiring an in-home health aide to support clients in the Albany/Avon area. Wage begins at $18 per hour; CNAs may earn $20 an hour. Eligible after 5 months for free CNA classes with Scrubs Academy. Part-time and full-time hours available based on your availability.

As an in-home caregiver, you will help clients stay safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes, providing mobility assistance, meal prep, companionship, and light housekeeping as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a caregiving role.
• Must be available every other weekend and holiday.
• 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Own reliable transportation, clean driving record, 3 years driving experience.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance and comfortable driving.
• DHS and driving record background clearance.
• Customer Service Excellence, Professional Boundaries required.

Responsibilities

• Assistance with Activities of Daily Living.
• Hands-on personal cares may include assistance with dressing, grooming, incontinence, and hygiene.
• Light housekeeping includes cleaning bathroom, living areas, kitchens, dusting, mopping, linen change, vacuuming, laundry, garbage etc.
• Meal planning, cooking and baking.
• Conversation and companionship.
• Interactive Caregiving.
• Assistance with mobility that may include use of transfer tools/equipment.
• Assistance with medication.
• Dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
• Communicate with Client Care Coordinator as needed.
• Provide proper electronic documentation of shift as well as cares.
