Job summary

Youth Villages seeks a PRN Community-Based Counselor to support families in Terre Haute and surrounding areas. The role involves delivering in-home, strength-based mental health services and coordinating with schools, courts, and providers. A current driver’s license and flexible schedule are required.

The position offers mileage reimbursement and opportunities for professional development within a dedicated team focused on keeping families together and promoting positive outcomes for youth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a social services discipline required.
• Master's degree in a social services discipline preferred.
• Experience working with at-risk youth and/or families (volunteer, internship, or paid).
• Clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carries a small caseload as assigned by supervisor on an as-needed basis.
• Holds individual and family sessions with each family 3 times a week.
• Performs ongoing assessment of youth using a strength-based perspective.
• Attends 3 weekly meetings for professional development.
• Drives up to 60–80 miles to meet families in homes and communities.
• Collaborates with other providers, case workers, and courts to plan treatment.
• Provides on-call crisis support.
• Documents in an electronic medical record system (EMR).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
