Job summary

Almost Family in Louisville, KY, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Per Diem Personal Care Assistant to support clients at home with daily living activities and personal care. You’ll help with bathing, grooming, mobility, meals, and basic health monitoring in a home setting.

Qualifications

• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• 6+ months of home care experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours as required to meet identified clients' needs.

Responsibilities

• Provides or assists clients with activities of daily living including bathing, hair care, teeth and mouth care, nail care, skin care, transfers, ambulation, dressing and medication reminders.
• Live-in and Sleep Over's: secures clients home for the night and provides reassurance during nighttime hours.
• Assists with household tasks directly essential to client's personal care.
• Accompanies client to medical appointments or shopping and performing other essential errands.
• Measures and records vital signs when ordered within the training limitations of the aide.
• Prepares meals per client's diet; may feed client if required.
• Maintains clean and safe home environment with proper use of equipment.
