JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. is seeking an Import Specialist to handle air and ocean import shipments, ensure compliance with regulations, and oversee CHB processes as needed. This role emphasizes accuracy, timely documentation, and proactive communication with customers and internal teams.

The candidate will manage import life cycles, coordinate with vendors and overseas offices, and contribute to cost forecasting and reporting while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience handling imports (air and/or ocean) or combination of education and expertise required.
• Experience and knowledge regarding imports, compliance, rules and regulations preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and process documents (e.g., classifications, commercial invoices) ensuring files are complete and accurate.
• Receive and track bookings/shipments, update clients on status, dispatch for delivery, collect PODs and invoice files.
• Bill/invoice each file to customers, monitor payment terms.
• Resolve incorrect payables by coordinating with vendors and overseas offices.
• Assist sales and managers in preparing quotes and cost forecasts.
• Provide responsive customer service and report on customer performance.
