Job summary

Jas-Worldwide in Charleston, SC is seeking an Import Specialist to manage air and ocean import shipments from intake to delivery. You will ensure documentation accuracy, track shipments, liaise with customers and vendors, and support compliance with customs rules and company procedures.

The role requires handling full import life cycle, strong organization, and excellent communication to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience handling imports (air and/or ocean) or combination of education and expertise.
• Experience with import compliance and regulations preferred.
• Knowledge of ISF and Incoterms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and process documents for import shipments, ensuring accuracy and sequence.
• Receive and track bookings/shipments, update clients, dispatch, obtain POD, and handle invoicing.
• Bill/invoice files to customers with attention to payment terms.
• Reconcile incorrect payables with vendors and overseas offices.
• Assist sales and colleagues in preparing quotes and cost forecasts.
• Provide responsive customer service and accurate job costing.
• Dispatch freight for delivery and maintain carrier communications.
• Report on customer performance and identify changes requiring management action.
• Ensure compliance with customs laws, procedures and company policies.
