• Experience entering and maintaining accurate data in customs clearance, logistics, or shipment tracking systems.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Import Specialist for a direct hire opportunity in Greer, SC. This role supports efficient, accurate, and compliant import operations for clients in a manufacturing-related logistics environment.

The Import Specialist will work closely with customs brokers, internal operations teams, clients, carriers, and government agencies to keep shipments moving and documentation compliant. Key Responsibilities

• Review import documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, and certificates of origin, for accuracy and customs compliance.
• Enter import data into customs clearance systems and maintain organized electronic shipment records.

Compensation and Benefits

• Direct hire opportunity.
• Pay range: $20 to $25 per hour.
• Location: Greer, SC.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Review, validate, and process import documentation for customs clearance.
• Coordinate with clients, shipping carriers, customs brokers, and government agencies.
• Resolve import documentation, compliance, and transportation issues.
• Support SOP development, process improvement, and knowledge sharing within the team.
• 6 to 10 years of experience in import operations, customs compliance, logistics, transportation, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of import documentation, customs regulations, tariffs, and trade compliance requirements.
• Experience entering and maintaining accurate data in customs clearance, logistics, or shipment tracking systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify documentation discrepancies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer service mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively with customs brokers and cross-functional teams.
• Commitment to accuracy, compliance, continuous learning, and process improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting import activity within a manufacturing, distribution, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or transportation environment.
• Familiarity with certificates of origin, trade agreements, tariff classifications, and import compliance processes.
• Experience creating or improving Standard Operating Procedures.
• Prior experience training or mentoring team members in import documentation or compliance processes.
