Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level, paid, full-time Student Success Coach and Mentor. You will coach and mentor students to boost academic outcomes and support classroom activities in partnership with teachers.

2–4 weeks of initial training provided. You will work with schools to improve attendance, literacy and math skills while fostering positive behaviors and a safe learning environment.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Ages 17-25 by July 1, 2025.
• GED or high school diploma, some college, or college degree.
• Have served no more than three AmeriCorps terms.
• Be able to pass a background check.
• Able to begin City Year by July/August 2025.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to boost academic success.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress.
• Collaborate with teachers on class instruction and in-class support.
• Attend 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year.
• Work with partner teachers and school staff throughout.
• Support extended day and virtual programming for students.
