Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, a ChanceLight company, is hiring a Special Education Teacher for our elementary learning centers in Illinois. You will design and deliver IEP‑aligned instruction, utilizing engaging software and differentiated approaches to support diverse learners.

The role emphasizes PBIS, collaboration with families and colleagues, and ongoing professional growth in a dynamic alternative education setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Current IL PEL credential or in progress.
• IL SSE or LBS1 credential or in progress.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.
• Experience with curriculum development and differentiation.
• Experience with IEP-based instruction and compliance.
• Proven ability to design engaging lessons for diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for Elementary students with IEPs.
• Deliver targeted instruction using innovative curriculum and software.
• Develop comprehensive lesson plans and schedules.
• Create inclusive learning environments and PBIS practices.
• Track progress and generate reports on student outcomes.
• Differentiate instruction in co-teaching settings.
• Adapt curriculum to diverse learning styles and needs.
• Manage caseloads and IEP goals.
• Collaborate with staff and admins to support student growth.
• Prepare organized materials aligned to standards.
• Maintain classroom safety and resources.
