Job summary

Evergreen Public Schools Shahala Middle School in Vancouver, Washington seeks a Special Education Paraeducator to support students with IEPs. Work 6 hours daily (9:35 a.m.–4:05 p.m.), 190 days/year, with immediate start and salary placement per the PSE Large Group schedule.

Minimum qualifications: 18+, high school diploma; and one of: 455+ on ParaPro, associate degree or higher, 72 quarter credits, or completion of a Paraeducator Apprenticeship. Training and safety reviews apply.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Must meet one of the following: ParaPro score 455+ or an associate degree or higher or 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher, or completion of a Paraeducator Apprenticeship Program.
• Position is 190 days per year with 6 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision of instructional activities under supervision of the Special Education teacher or IEP manager.
• Assist in one-to-one and group instruction as directed to meet IEP goals.
• Maintain data on student progress and assist in administering assessments.
• Attend trainings and implement behavioral management strategies as outlined by the teacher.
