Job summary

Evergreen Public Schools Home Choice Academy in Vancouver, Washington, seeks a Special Education Paraeducator to support students under the supervision of the Special Education instructor and building principal. Work hours are 6 per day, 8:45 a.m.

to 3:15 p.m., 190 days per year, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The successful candidate will provide one-to-one and small group instruction, help implement IEP goals, maintain student progress data, and assist with materials.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet one of: ETS ParaPro score 455+, Associate degree or higher, 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits, or Paraeducator Apprenticeship.
• External applicants must provide official transcripts or ParaPro results with application.
• Stance: district screens out applicants not meeting qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise instructional activities under the Special Education teacher and building Principal.
• Provide one-to-one and small group instruction aligned to IEP goals.
• Maintain data on student progress and progress toward IEP goals.
• Assist in administering and scoring tests and implement behavioral strategies.
• Assist with instructional materials and adapt tasks for student needs.
